About Us

Grapevine Youth Football and Cheerleading Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to serve the families of our community by teaching children the basic concepts of competition, dedication, good sportsmanship and teamwork.  We exist to provide a quality learning environment for children interested in youth football and cheerleading.

Although we are an independent organization, we are officially sponsored by the City of Grapevine, and we receive support through the city's Parks and Recreation Department.

We compete against teams from the cities of Colleyville, Coppell and Southlake as part of the Tarrant/Dallas Football Association (TDFA).

Our organization provides the following youth sports experience:

*12 year olds may only play Senior Football if they are NOT attending the 7th grade at a school that provides a football program.

**4 year olds may cheer with Grapevine Youth Football and Cheerleading Association Executive Board approval.

For football players, the "Skills Weight" column represents the established weight limit for skill position players in that division.  If a child is over the listed weight, they are still eligible to play in that division, however, they are not eligible to play in certain positions, as defined by the TDFA by-laws.

The division the child will play in is determined by the child's age on August 1 of the current year.

Football Required Equipment

Our association provides helmets, mouth pieces (protective gear) and  shoulder pads to tackle football participants.  The equipment is checked out at the beginning of the season and collected at the end of the season.  At all football levels, the players also receive a pair of game pants, a game jersey and game socks.  Game flags are also provided to the flag division players.  Tackle division players must provide their own cleats, pant pads (2 - knee pads, 2 - thigh pads, 2 - snap-on hip pads and 1 - snap-on tail bone pad), practice pants, practice jerseys and any other miscellaneous equipment.

Volunteer!

Our organization cannot exist without volunteers who are willing to maintain a positive and exciting environment for our participating youths.  This association exists for the benefit of our community's children and can only be successful through your participation.
